Guest Speaker Madeline DeFrench

Madeline DeFrench graduated from Purdue University in May 2020. She double majored in Management and Marketing with a minor in Studio Art & Design. Madeline now works in Noblesville, Indiana as a Marketing Specialist for SMC Corporation of America, which is based out of Japan! SMC is a world leader in pneumatics, a branch of engineering that makes use of gas and pressurized air. Some tasks that Madeline's job consist of are event planning, managing web leads, sending marketing reports to Japan, and survey analytics. Madeline talked about her job search, application process, and interview process. During your job search she suggest utilizing platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and ZipRecruiter. Madeline gave multiple tips for resume information that include deleting irrelevant information and prioritizing important information. While at the interview she suggested always having a “tell me about yourself” question response prepared. Madeline put an emphasis on how important it is to do your research on the company before an interview
